Absolutely. Anyone who has watched both angles of the boyle hit would come to the same conclusion, not a penalty in a playoff overtime game, only slightly possibly an interference call in a regular season game. Not a high hit and I had no issue with it. That hit is not why the isles lost that game and tampa deserves credit for the win.

Agreed that the Boyle hit was borderline late, but did not deserve a penalty in the playoffs. The interesting part is that his hit was very similar to Letang's hit which got him a 1 game suspension. Both were borderline late. Both had head contact even though it was not the principal point of contact. The league needs to be consistent on what crosses the line.

The only thing I didnt like about Letang's was that Johannson was in that vulnerable position and Letang made a sharp and upward drive to finish his check, whereas Boyle stayed low and constant across. Timing-wise I didnt have an issue with either

I can see that, but I think a major factor in that was that both players had momentum in the Letang hit. Letang had to finish strong to halt Johannson's momentum or they both would have been taken out of the play. I think Hickey was more or less stationary when hit by Boyle. So if Boyle finished too strong, he would have tripped over him after knocking him down. As for vulnerable position, when you're crossing through the middle of the ice, if a player puts himself in a vulnerable position before receiving any body contact, that's probably his own fault.

I'm still not arguing that the Boyle hit should of had a penalty even though Letang's did because different refs call plays a little differently and thats totally fine. However, if DoPS isn't consistent about which hits are suspendable and which hits aren't, its hard to know what should be allowed.

Maybe I'm reading to much into it, but the high five Cooper and Drouin shared looks to me like a fence being mended? Even if he still leaves, rebuilding a friendship is important.

Have always liked the Bolts moniker. Come to Tampa and say Bolts and everyone knows what your talking about. Its probably more commonly used then calling the team by its Lightning name.

True the chargers have been around longer but getting bolt from Charger is a little bit of a reach, more the emblem but bolt and Lightning makes a little more sense, maybe a pair of battery cables as an emblem for the Chargers

Boyle's hit was clean. Perhaps somewhat late, but I've seen later hits in the playoffs that go uncalled. Nothing wrong with that play, IMO.

Unrelated, are the fans ready to move on from Stamkos, it seems like you can spread 11 million dollars out, and I'm scared to think how good you would be with Stralman in, so this is a very good team now, (hope we win next 3) but I think without Stamkos this team is still a deep playoff team.

I and many others have already counted Stamkos as a UFA. Some still making to the hope that he signs, but you're right, his money could go a long way in keeping Johnson, Killorn, palat, Kucherov Hedman and some lesser performers. I'd like to see Filppula and Carle moved, but doubtful on the latter.

Do keep in mind that Tampa has a good upper hand on resigning their players as long as they like playing there. With the lack of state taxes, their checks go a touch further than if they sign elsewhere; thus enabling them to sign for a little less $$$ to stay in (or go to) Tampa.
